Profile

Dr Saravana Kumar is a Consultant at the Department of Neuroradiology, National Neuroscience Institute and a Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. He completed his undergraduate medical education at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), in India in 2011 and moved to Singapore to pursue his post graduate education from SingHealth Residency. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology and was awarded Fellow of Royal College of Radiology (UK) and Master of Medicine (Singapore) degrees in 2015 as well as European Diploma in Radiology (Europe) degree in 2018.

Dr Kumar further subspecialised in Neuroradiology and started practising as a specialist since August 2018. He was awarded the Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) scholarship in 2020 by the Ministry of Health and underwent a clinical fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology at the renowned Toronto Western Hospital – University of Toronto, Canada, under the tutelage of Prof Timo Krings.

In 2021, he also obtained his European Diploma in Interventional Neuroradiology (Europe) and is currently practising both Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology. Dr Kumar’s subspecialty interest lies in minimally invasive endovascular treatment of various vascular disorders of the brain and spine including stroke, aneurysm, arteriovenous shunts as well as carotid artery and intracranial stenosis.
