Profile

Dr Muntasir Mannan Choudhury is a Consultant with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Sengkang General Hospital since November 2019. He was previously an Associate Consultant in the Department of Hand Surgery at Singapore General Hospital (August 2016-August 2019). He has a special interest in minimally invasive Hand and Wrist Surgery, microsurgery, trauma and reconstruction. He graduated from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India in 2004 and thereafter completed his MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in 2010. He eventually completed his advanced specialist training in Hand Surgery in Singapore and was inducted as Fellow of the Academy of Medicine in Singapore in 2016. Subsequently, he did a fellowship with Dr Jeff Ecker at JeffEcker Clinic in Perth, Australia in 2020 on minimally invasive Hand and Wrist Surgery. Unfortunately the fellowship was cut short due to Covid- 19 and he returned to Singapore and promptly joined the operations against the virus.

Apart from him being an excellent clinician as stated by his patients, Dr Choudhury is strongly involved in medical education and holds the position of a Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke NUS medical school. He has multiple research papers and continues clinical research along with his busy clinical schedule. He has received multiple Singhealth Service with a Heart Awards and also won the Singapore Health Quality Service Awards 2017 Star Award and the Singapore Health Quality Service Awards 2018 Silver Award.
