Profile

Dr Mohammad Ashik obtained his basic medical and postgraduate qualifications from the National University of Singapore and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in the UK.

Dr Ashik is a Consultant in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, KK Women's and Children's Hospital. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, DUKE-NUS Graduate Medical School and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.

He was awarded the SingHealth Human Manpower Development Program in 2013, allowing him to pursue a 1 year clinical fellowship in Germany.

Dr Ashik is instrumental in advocating minimally invasive surgical approaches (small incisions/keyhole surgery) with the aims of achieving less patient discomfort, shorter hospital stay and faster recovery.

Dr Ashik's areas of interests are;

  1. Sports injuries in children and adolescents
  2. Arthroscopic (keyhole) surgeries of the hip, knee, ankle, shoulder and elbow and wrist
  3. Patella dislocation and reconstructive surgery
  4. Paediatric trauma
  5. Lower limb malalignment and deformity correction
  6. Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and Hip preservation
