May's professional journey began as an Emergency Nurse by training. Subsequently, she joined the research industry in Eil Lilly and Merck where she oversees early phase clinical research development. She eventually transitioned to the social realm. Before joining SingHealth, May has played a pivotal role in overseeing strategic and outreach operations for the eastern region with the Silver Generation Office (SGO) under the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC). Her collaborative efforts with various community and SingHealth partners have successfully integrated health and social networks for the older adults. Within SingHealth, she continues to oversee the operations in the east region and works together with colleagues to drive population health efforts. Recently, she is also appointed as a faculty member for SingHealth Community Health Office Of Learning (SCHOOL) where she contributes her expertise in training and participates in training curriculum development. Beyond her professional pursuits, May devotes her time to community service, actively promoting active citizenry and fostering stronger community bonds. She spearheaded initiatives promoting social cohesion, racial harmony, and civic responsibility. She is also a member of the School Advisory Committee in one of the junior colleges to provide support in the school’s rich variety of programmes for both students and staff.

May was accorded the National Day Awards for her exemplary contributions in 2014 and the public administration medal in 2023 for COVID-19 operations.
