Dr. Lim Keng Hua

Dr Lim graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2000. He obtained his postgraduate degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 2005 and Master of Medicine (Otorhinolaryngology) in 2010. He completed his ear nose throat surgical training in Singapore and was accredited as a specialist in Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) in 2013.

He was the first surgeon to be awarded a Ministry of Health clinical rhinology fellowship award in Europe, where he trained under world-renowned rhinologist Professor Wytske Fokkens and endoscopic skull base surgeon Professor Christos Georgalas, to expand Singapore’s repertoire in the management of rhinology, endoscopic skull base surgery and sinonasal allergy. Upon his return, he introduced the concept of local allergic rhinitis, use of 5FU, and en bloc resection in the management of inverted papilloma, to the local ENT fraternity.

During his tenure as a consultant in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, he started the allergy and immunotherapy service to manage difficult nasal allergy and smell disorder. Being the Lead ENT tutor and adjunct lecturer in Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, National Technological University/Imperial College, also allowed him to plan and implement the entire ENT curriculum. Dr Lim was also a senior Clinical Lecturer of the National University of Singapore, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and a core faculty member in the National Healthcare Group ENT residency programme. He sits on the Standard Setting Committees for the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine’s undergraduate medical examination and the Otorhinolaryngology postgraduate medical examination, and is an examiner in both medical schools.

With an avid interest in inverted papilloma, nasal polyposis, chronic rhinosinusitis, and allergic rhinitis, Dr Lim has published in local and international journals, and has collaborated with several international centres like Beijing Tongren Hospital, to improve the management of chronic rhinosinusitis. Locally, Dr Lim teaches regularly in the Singapore Allergy & Rhinology Course, Endoscopic sinus and skull base courses organised by Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Changi General Hospital, Singapore General Hospital, and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. He also teaches at Khon Kean FESS and skull base course in Thailand, and is on the panel of reviewers for the International Journal of Paediatric Otorhinolaryngology and Rhinology.

Dr Lim is a member of the European Rhinologic Society, the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Society (Singapore), and Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery. He was a executive member of the Society of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery of Singapore (2015-2016).

Dr Lim has a specialised interest in nose & sinus diseases and allergies. He is also experienced in managing both adults’ and childrens’ ENT problems such as ear infections, hearing loss, voice disorder, snoring & sleep disorder, salivary gland & thyroid swelling.
