Dr Soon Sue Rene is an ENT specialist fellowship trained in paediatric and adult ENT. She is a Consultant with the Department of Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) – Head & Neck Surgery at JurongHealth Campus, practising at NTFGH and JMC. She is also a Visiting Consultant at the Department of Paediatric Otolaryngology at KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital.

Dr Soon set up the obstructive sleep apnoea surgical service in NTFGH and the snoring clinic in JMC. She is the principal consultant in charge of snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea surgery in NTFGH and JMC. She is also a member of NTFGH’s sleep multi-disciplinary team.

A graduate in Medicine from the National University of Singapore, Dr Soon obtained her Master of Medicine in Otolaryngology and received her fellowship training in Paediatric Otolaryngology at the Stollery Children’s Hospital, University of Alberta, Canada. Thereafter, she completed a fellowship in snoring, sleep disordered breathing surgery, transoral robotic surgery and advanced surgical head and neck oncology at GB Morgagni L Pierantoni Hospital, Italy, under the Health Manpower Development Plan Award. She is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and a fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.

Besides clinical duties, Dr Soon also has keen interest in teaching and research. She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor and Clinical Examiner at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. She has a clinical research fellowship from Kaoshiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan. In addition, she has published papers in peer-reviewed medical journals, co-authored chapters in ENT textbooks and presented numerous research papers at international and local meetings where she has won several awards.
