Dr Christopher Ang is the Head and Senior Consultant at the Department of Neurosurgery (SGH) of the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI). He received his medical education at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and performed his residency in neurological surgery at the NNI and at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. During his residency, he carried out bench research defining molecular mechanisms in oligodendroglial development and myelination.

Currently a Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon at NNI, Dr Ang’s clinical sub-specialty interests include Endoscopic Pituitary and Skull Base Surgery, Radiosurgery and Neuro-Oncology.

His research is in Neuro-oncology where his lab and work on patient-tailored therapy in glioblastoma, is supported by the National Medical Research Council (NMRC). He is affiliated to the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences (SICS), where he is a Senior Principal Investigator.

He is also an Associate Professor at the Duke-National University of Singapore Graduate Medical School (Duke-NUS), where he co-directs the Brain and Behaviour programme.
