SingHealth and Singapore International Foundation win President's Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards 2021 – City of Good Award
The President’s Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards (PVPA) is the pinnacle award and platform to recognise individuals, organisations and leaders who have achieved excellence in giving.
This year, the PVPA has a new City of Good Award category for cross-sector partnerships that yield significant and sustainable impact and effectiveness, resulting in lasting contributions to society.
The winner of this award, the Paediatric Emergency and Neonatal Care Project, is a partnership between SingHealth and Singapore International Foundation. The Project saw a care team from KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) successfully train 280 healthcare workers from seven hospitals in Surabaya, Indonesia, and equip them with critical skills to better respond to medical emergencies in newborns and children. This was done through clinical training workshops, leadership dialogues, symposia and community outreach efforts.
The Project is expected to benefit 50,000 young patients annually, in line with Indonesia’s national goal of reducing the mortality rate of infants and children under the age of five.
