Profile

Dr Ng Jia Lin is a Senior Consultant at Department of Surgery, Sengkang General Hospital. She obtained her medical degree from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2009. She then trained as a general surgeon in the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-International accredited Singhealth General Surgery Residency Programme. In 2015, she was accredited as a Specialist in General Surgery and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She subsequently completed her subspecialty training in colorectal surgery in Singapore General Hospital, before being awarded a one-year international fellowship in 2018 in the field of advanced open and minimally-invasive pelvic surgery in Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.

Her subspecialty interests lie in minimally-invasive colorectal surgery, advanced pelvic oncology and proctology. She has won several awards showcasing laparoscopic techniques in advanced colorectal surgeries. Apart from her clinical portfolio, she is actively involved in research and education. Dr Ng has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, reviewed extensively for several international journals and contributed to colorectal textbooks. She is currently involved in several clinical trials in the Department. As Assistant Professor in Duke-NUS, Clinical Lecturer in YLL-NUS School of Medicine and Clinical Tutor in LKC, she regularly teaches medical students from all 3 medical schools. She also mentors surgical residents as Faculty Member of Singhealth General Surgery Residency Programme, develops curriculum for post-graduate junior doctors as Core Clinical Faculty Member, and regularly organises surgical workshops and loco-regional conferences.
