Profile

Clinical Assistant Professor Koh Choong Hou is a Consultant from the Department of Cardiology, and the Director of SAF Cardiac Fitness Centre at National Heart Centre Singapore.

He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2003, and joined the Republic of Singapore Airforce from 2004 to 2018 as an Aviation Medical Officer, obtaining the post graduate Diploma in Aviation Medicine in 2006. Between 2009 and 2017, he completed his training in Internal Medicine and subsequently General Cardiology, obtaining MRCP and Mmed (Int Med) in 2011. He completed his examination in Special Competence in Adult Echocardiography awarded by the National Board of Echocardiography (USA) in 2018

He is also an appointed Visiting Consultant to Changi General Hospital's Department of General Medicine, where he is involved in the medical certification of civilian aircrew, in the Changi Aviation Medicine Centre."

He subspecialises in Echocardiography (TTE, TEE and Stress Test), Cardiac Rehabilitation and Sports Cardiology (Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing), with a keen interest in Aviation Cardiology (specifically in the evaluation and certification of aircrew with cardiac conditions).
