Profile

Following his clinical fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedics at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada, Clinical A/Prof Kevin Lim trained in top centres in Japan and New Zealand to hone his skills in paediatric spine and scoliosis surgery. His other interests within paediatric orthopaedics include cerebral palsy, clubfoot, and fractures in children.

At KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, A/Prof Lim is Chairman of the Division of Surgery where he oversees the running of the surgical departments and operating theatres. A strong proponent of academic medicine, A/Prof Lim has trained and examined generations of medical students and orthopaedic residents. Aligned with his focus as an academic clinician and surgeon, he continues to present and publish his research, and contributes as reviewer and editorial board member for medical journals.

In the social service sector, A/Prof Lim serves as an elected member on the board of council at the National Council of Social Service (NCSS). He also serves on the board of Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore (CPAS) as advisor and Emeritus Chairman (Honorary) following ten years as Chairman.

For his commitment and dedicated service to both the social service sector and public healthcare, A/Prof Lim was awarded the Public Service Medal (PBM) in 2015 and the Public Service Star (BBM) in 2019.

In addition, he has won several prestigious awards for both service and teaching excellence. They include the national PS21 (Public Service) Star Service Award, the Healthcare Humanity Award, and the NUS Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence.
