Dr Indumathi Venkatachalam graduated from the University of Sydney with MBBS, followed by specialist training in Infectious Diseases, obtaining Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
Her other qualifications include Master of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She also holds a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the Gorgas Memorial Institute (course conducted in collaborative partnership between the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the Alexander von Humboldt Tropical Medicine Institute from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia).
