​Dr Chia has been with the Department since 2001. He is trained and have worked in Switzerland, Japan, London (UK) and Boston (USA). His current research interests include arthritis, cartilage biology, cartilage tissue engineering and artificial joint design. Apart from his clinical appointments, he teaches at both the Duke-NUS Medical School and the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

Dr Chia’s sub-specialty clinical interests include:
Knee and Hip Surgery, including cartilage regeneration and joint preservation techniques
Joint Replacement and Arthritis Surgery
Minimally-invasive joint surgery; computer-navigated surgery
