Profile

Dr Cheryl Chong is a colorectal specialist surgeon, with interests in the field of colorectal surgery, in particular minimally invasive oncological work and the management of pelvic floor disorders. She spends most of her time in Sengkang General Hospital, and is also part of a multi-disciplinary specialist surgical team for pelvic floor disorders in Kandang Kerbau Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKWCH), where she runs outpatient clinics for patients with pelvic floor disorders.

She completed her General Surgery Residency in SingHealth and obtained specialist accreditation in 2019.

Aside from her clinical work, she also has a personal interest in global health, having participated in overseas medical missions during her training. She currently leads the global health ACP for the Department of Surgery in Sengkang General Hospital and aims to improve the overall level of surgical care in developing countries in the region with various outreach and training programs.

Dr Cheryl Chong is a keen educator, and takes time out of clinical work to educate medical students and doctors on the nuances of general surgery cases and management.
