Dr. Adrian Chiow is a senior consultant hepatobiliary and pancreatic (HPB) surgeon with the Department of Surgery, Changi General Hospital (CGH). Dr. Chiow’s sub-speciality interest is in minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic) HPB.
He graduated with MBBS from the University of Melbourne (Australia) with Honours in 2003 and completed training in general surgery at SingHealth and Eastern Health Alliance with Specialist Accreditation Board certification in 2012. He subsequently commenced his specialist HPB training in CGH before undergoing further sub-specialty clinical training under the Human Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) award in 2013 for advanced and minimally invasive (laparoscopic/robotic) HPB Surgery at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, Brisbane, Australia. Since returning from fellowship, he started the advanced laparoscopic HPB service in 2014 and the Robotic HPB program in 2016 in CGH.
He is actively involved in undergraduate teaching as senior clinical lecturer and MBBS Examiner with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore as well as adjunct assistant professor for Lee Kong Chian and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He serves a concurrent role as associate programme director for the Singhealth General Surgery Residency Program.
Dr. Chiow’s research interests are in improving clinical outcomes and quality of life for patients undergoing minimally invasive HPB surgery.
