​Dr Wan joined the department in March 2008. His current interest is in gastrointestinal pathology. Before joining the department, he held posts in the UK as a specialist registrar and later as a consultant pathologist.

  • 2007 Fellowship of The Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath), UK 
  • 2007 Certificate of Completion of Postgraduate Medical Training in Histopathology from the UK Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board

  • ​Council member for the Singapore Society of Pathology. 
  • Member of the inflammatory bowel disease centre, Singapore General Hospital.

  • Gastrointestinal, Hepatic and pancreatobiliary cancers
  • Fatty liver disease


  • ​Analysis of pro-fibrotic markers in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease 
  • Collaboration in study evaluating staging of low colonic tumours using MRI scan with pathological correlation. 
  • Collaboration in study analysing protein profiles in gastric cancers. 
  • Collaboration in a Phase II dose escalation to rash trial of Erlotinib plus Gemcitabine in patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer. 
  • Collaboration in a Phase II biomarker identification trial for Erlotinib in patients with advanced pancreatic carcinoma.
