Dr Seisuke Sakamoto
Deputy Director, Organ Transplantation Center, National Center for Child Health and Development, Tokyo, Japan

Seisuke Sakamoto, MD, PhD is a graduate of Kyoto University Faculty of Medicine in 1994. He trained at the Kyoto University Hospital in Japan during his general surgical residency. Afterwards, he completed a postgraduate PhD thesis at the Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine (Prof. Koichi Tanaka). He also trained at the Multi-Organ Transplant Program at the University of Toronto in Canada as a research and clinical fellow from 2001 to 2004, to gain the expertise in deceased abdominal organ transplantation. 

Since 2009, he joined to the Organ Transplantation Program at the National Center for Child Health and Development in Tokyo, Japan with Prof. Mureo Kasahara, and he focused on clinical practice, research work, and medical education regarding pediatric abdominal organ transplantation. Currently he is the director of Organ Transplantation Center, where 837 liver, 81 Kidney, 5 small bowel transplants have been performed with excellent patient survival.
