What is SingHealth Hackathon 2019?
The SingHealth Hackathon 2019 is a time and space where the SingHealth and Duke-NUS community comes together to brainstorm, ideate and design solutions to pressing medical issues.
Over the course of two days, participants will form teams, exchange insights, hear from experts (mentors) and work with prototyping tools to create solutions that strengthen patient care.
The teams will then pitch their ideas to a panel of judges for support to bring forward their proposal throughout SingHealth.

The theme for the SingHealth Hackathon 2019 is “Care for the Community”.
Singaporeans are living longer, healthier lives and we want to partner them to keep well, get well and age well in their communities and homes. How best can we empower individuals to take charge of their health as well as enhance the quality and accessibility of care in the community?

FAQs
1. Do I need to be a tech or data specialist to participate?
No. We welcome people with different skillsets and value the contribution everyone brings.
2. This is the first time I’m participating in a hackathon. What can I expect?
Hackathons are meant to be fun! On the morning of day one, participants with project ideas will get a chance to do a one-minute pitch to the audience to attract others to join their team. Mentors and resource persons are invited to offer advice and help the teams develop their ideas.
To decide on the team to join, participants must present to hear the pitches and make their choices. Although attendees are free to come and go, it is important that team members ensure that workload is shared amongst the team.
The hackathon will culminate in the team presentations on Saturday afternoon (16 Feb) to a panel of judges, with a prize presentation.
3. Is attendance at the Pre-Hackathon Workshop mandatory? What will be shared at the session?
Attendance is not mandatory, but is highly encouraged as it is a good primer for the hackathon.
