Last August, Singapore General Hospital (SGH) became the first hospital in Asia to launch an enhanced recovery after surgery for total knee replacement (ERAS TKR) clinical pathway. With carefully-selected patients safely discharged on postoperative day one (POD1) without increased risk for perioperative complications, this helps to reduce the rising healthcare cost associated with increasing demand for TKR.
