Quantitative methods encompass much more than just randomised controlled trials, yet it is a branch of research methodology frequently overlooked in the context of education. This session will provide an introduction to quantitative research methods in an educational context. It will provide some background understanding of this area and cover the topics of developing a research idea, refining a quantitative research question, as well as an introduction to quantitative research designs and basic statistics.
