Cutting Through The Centre: Et Tu In Situ? Can and Should In Situ Replace Centre-based Crisis Resource Management Training?

This is an interactive, discussion-based workshop, which looks at the conduct, benefits and challenges of crisis resource management training in different settings, namely in the simulation lab and in situ. This workshop is targeted at participants who already have some experience in running simulation-based training (i.e., intermediate), and are planning to start or already running CRM/team training.


Learning Objectives:
  1. Understand the role/benefits of CRM training in acute medicine;
  2. Discuss the pros and cons of holding it in situ and in the lab; 
  3. Appreciate that there is a role for both in situ and centre based training;
  4. Appreciate the challenges of setting up such a course in both settings and describe measures that may be used to overcome them.
