Ms Shen Haiying

Ms Shen Haiying is a Senior Nurse Manager of Operating Theatre (OT) Services in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
In her role in OT services she uses her advanced nursing skills to maintain a high standard of Anaesthesia care and services for both women and children. This role includes patient care management, staff orientation, clinical education and training, staff development and professional growth within the specialty area of practice.
Haiying is actively involved in teaching and training for OT nurses. Her interest being in in situ simulation training, she underwent peri-operative simulation training at the Boston Children’s Hospital in 2014. With the simulation skills and knowledge acquired, she enhanced staff training for newly joined nurses and junior nurses to strengthen their clinical competencies. She also conducts regular simulation training for crisis management during Code Blue situations for existing OT staff, to ensure staff are well-equipped and prepared to handle emergency situations.
