GovInsider reported on the healthcare leaders who will helm Eastern General Hospital (EGH), which is due to open by 2030 in Bedok. From 2025, Assoc Prof Gan Wee Hoe will be appointed pro-tem Chief Executive and Assoc Prof Augustine Tee will be appointed pro-tem Medical Board Chairman. Prof Gan will continue serving as the CEO of SCH, while Prof Tee will relinquish his role as Chairman of the Medicine Division at CGH. Prof Gan will provide leadership regarding strategies and operations of the hospital and Professor Tee will oversee the development of professional services and clinical specialities when he chairs the medical board at EGH. The EGH campus, which is operated by SingHealth, is slated to open in Bedok North by 2030. It will also be the first general hospital to deliver clinical services virtually in 2026, before its completion. Prof Ng Wai Hoe, Group CEO, SingHealth, was quoted in this story.
