A/Prof Chong Chia Yin is currently Director of Clinical Quality and Patient Safety, Division of Medicine and Senior Consultant, Infectious Diseases, Department of Paediatrics. She was the Head of the Department of Paediatrics, KKH from January 2006-December 2014. She was the Program Director for the Singhealth Paediatric Residency Program from 2010-2012. Career highlights include: being the pioneer for Paediatric Infectious Diseases in Singapore, establishing the Clinical pathway for Community-acquired pneumonia, research in vaccine-preventable infections, multiple quality improvement projects including reduction of unnecessary aerobic blood cultures, establishing the KKH Staff Vaccination program, prevention of antenatal HIV transmission, research in Hand-Foot and Mouth disease and invasive pneumococcal disease.
