|Appointment of SingHealth Human Resource Panel|
Following the release of the Report by the hepatitis C Independent Review Committee appointed by the Ministry of Health, Mr Peter Seah, Chairman, SingHealth Board of Directors, has appointed a Human Resource Panel to examine the roles, responsibilities and actions of key SGH staff, and assess if disciplinary actions need to be taken.

|New surgical skills and simulation centre launched at 2nd SingHealth Surgical Congress|
The SingHealth Duke-NUS Surgical Skills and Simulation Centre was launched today in conjunction with the 2nd SingHealth Surgical Congress. The opening was officiated by Mr Gan Kim Yong, Minister for Health. Themed “Surgical Excellence through Collaboration”, the biennial Congress attracts more than 600 local and international surgeons, procedural specialists, nurses, allied health professionals and medical students. The Congress serves as a platform for participants to hone their skills, learn best practices and keep abreast with the latest advances in surgery. Minister Gan also announced that the inaugural Lee Seng Teik and Lee Hoo Leng Professorship in Plastic Surgery and Regenerative Medicine was conferred on Professor Yann Barrandon, a world-renowned expert in epithelial stem cell biology.

|Fundraising with a creative twist - SingHealth President’s Challenge 2015|
After months of fundraising and volunteering activities, the SingHealth President’s Challenge 2015 raised a total of $488,000. A cheque for the amount was presented to President Tony Tan Keng Yam by SingHealth Chairman, Mr Peter Seah, at the finale event held at National Dental Centre Singapore on 17 October.

|Singapore scientists uncover genetic landscape of distinct breast tumours for improved diagnoses of breast cancer|
A team from the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre, comprising scientists and clinicians from the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, has uncovered the genetic landscape of a distinct breast tumour group called fibroepithelial tumours.

|Singapore launches healthcare leadership programme for Asian healthcare leaders and public officials|
Over 40 healthcare leaders and public officials from more than 10 Asian countries are gathered in Singapore from 5 to 9 October 2015 to attend a healthcare governance and leadership executive programme. The Temasek Foundation Healthcare Executives in Asia Leadership Programme (TF HEAL) will serve as an important platform and opportunity to share best practices and build networks of cooperation in the region. The inaugural TF HEAL programme was established with a grant of S$589,000 from Temasek Foundation.

|The inaugural SingHealth Duke-NUS Gala Dinner 2015 closed on a high note with more than $30 million raised for medical research and education initiatives. Themed ‘A Symphony of Stars’, the Gala Dinner brought together clinicians, researchers, educators and donors who share a strong conviction to improve health outcomes and quality of life for patients and the community. The event also celebrated a decade of successful partnership between SingHealth and Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School in establishing an Academic Medical Centre.|

|Nurses launch book of 100 inspiring true stories at work to celebrate 130 years of Nursing in Singapore|
This year not only marks Singapore’s Golden Jubilee but also 130 years of Nursing in Singapore. To mark the occasion, Defence Minister Dr Ng Eng Hen joined more than 3,000 nurses at the SingHealth Nurses’ Day celebrations at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre to launch “Nursing the Heart”, a book written and produced by the nurses from across the organisation’s healthcare institutions. In line with this year’s theme – 130 Years of Caring for the Nation – over 60 pioneer generation nurses were invited to be part of the celebrations.

Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) and SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre’s Paediatrics Academic Clinical Programme (ACP) have partnered to establish the Tan Cheng Lim – CCF Professorship in Paediatric Oncology. The Professorship, named in honour of one of Singapore’s pioneers in paediatric oncology, Emeritus Consultant, Professor Tan Cheng Lim, aims to promote continued learning and innovative medical research in the future generations of paediatricians in Singapore.

|SingHealth nurses spread festive cheer to 200 elderly residents in Kreta Ayer|
More than 140 nurse volunteers from SingHealth brought festive cheer to needy elderly residents living in Kreta Ayer at a reunion dinner held this evening. Held at the Kreta Ayer Community Centre, the dinner was attended by more than 200 elderly residents together with Dr Lily Neo, Advisor to Tanjong Pagar GRC Grassroots Organisations.

|More than 2,700 healthcare professionals recognised for service excellence|
A record number of 2,748 healthcare professionals from 19 institutions were honoured at the annual Singapore Health Quality Service Award held today. Organised by the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre, the award is Singapore’s first dedicated platform to honour healthcare professionals who have delivered quality care and excellent service to patients.
