COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES

The centre believes in the importance of reaching out to the community at large and contributing to the larger society through sharing of expertise and imparting of knowledge. To this end, we have supported various schools’ Community Involvement Programmes in health-related projects such as studying the impact of the haze on human health and surveying the perceptions and practices of smokers in the community.

We also actively promote greater community awareness of healthcare policy issues through speaking at forums and conferences including grassroots and business organizations.

Lastly, the centre maintains an active local and international internship programme which seeks to expose future healthcare and community leaders to healthcare and foster an in-depth understanding of the nuances of health policy. To date, we have accepted interns and associates from overseas institutions such as Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Harvard School of Public Health and Williams College, as well as local centers of higher learning such as Singapore Management University, Hwa Chong Institution and Meridian Junior College.
