Yen focuses on health technology assessment, performing systematic reviews and cost effectiveness analysis. What she enjoys most about her work, in addition to the occasional contact with patients, is providing scientific data to help inform policy. Her other research interests are in survey methods, pharmacoeconomics and epidemiology.
Prior to joining SingHealth, she worked at GlaxoSmithKline where she optimised chemical processes through statistical methods and LeanSignma techniques. She was also heavily involved in filing NDAs (new drug applications) with the various regulatory agencies especially the US FDA and Japanese PMDA.
Yen has a Masters in Statistics from the National University of Singapore (2006). She completed her undergraduate studies in the University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign where she obtained her double degrees in Biochemistry and Chemical Engineering (2003) on a Glaxo-EDB Scholarship.
An avid movie buff, she enjoys cycling, cooking and playing with her pet guinea pigs.
