 Cataract and intraocular lens implantation surgery continues to be the most common operation performed at the Singapore National Eye Centre. The specialists here perform more than 10,000 cataract operations a year.
Cataract surgery is carried out as a day / ambulatory procedure. We have a comfortable day ward managed by a team of friendly and experienced nurses to make your experience here satisfying.
Our Singapore National Eye Centre has a pool of expertise and the state-of-the-art equipments. These include those required to perform accurate calculation for lens implantation as well as microscopes / phacoemulsification machines / instruments to perform minimally invasive no stitch small incision phacoemulsification under topical anaesthesia with refractive correction. The SNEC cataract surgery service is a centre of choice for clinical trials.
A wide range of intraocular lenses that include the latest Foldable Intra-Ocular Lens (IOL), Multifocal IOL, Accommodative IOL (omit) and Microincision IOL are available for implantation following cataract surgery to cater to the individual needs of our patients. |
