Commitment to Advancement of Care through Research and Continued Education
The presence of a vibrant, intellectually stimulating environment with an emphasis on research is important to SingHealth as it is integral and fundamental in sustaining the delivery of quality health services. At SingHealth, we are highly involved in medical research activities, which aim to translate basic science research discoveries to the bedside, to offer new potential cures or diagnostic methods. Coupled with our focus on medical education, our healthcare professionals are therefore kept well abreast of new medical modalities and treatment options, which we make available to our local and foreign patients when clinically proven and feasible.
Currently, SingHealth has more than 300 research staff, including 92 research and clinician scientists, who are involved in over 500 research projects and clinical trials. SingHealth's research activities have been receiving increasing recognition within the medical and research community, with strong support from Singapore's Biomedical Research Council.
SingHealth is the main training ground for healthcare professionals in Singapore. Offering the nuance of an academic medical centre through our strong education focus, SingHealth has developed a role as a major regional centre for postgraduate healthcare education, research and training, with three dedicated training institutions which cater to the training needs of various healthcare professionals, and is open to both local and regional healthcare professionals.
- Post Graduate Medical Institute - Postgraduate Medical Training & Education for Clinicians in Singapore and the region. To date, it has received more than 500 fellows from 33 countries.
- Post Graduate Allied Health Institute - Postgraduate Allied Health Training & Education for Allied Health Professionals in Singapore and the region.

The SingHealth Logo

The three tails of the SingHealth brushstroke represent the three pillars of Healthcare: Service, Training and Research. The solid base reflects that we are grounded on a firm foundation. The upward stroke of the brush demonstrates progressiveness and a constant pursuit of improvement, in a world without borders.
The logo was developed by local artist and Cultural Medallion winner, Chua Ek Kay, who uses a technique known as 'ink wash', to create a flow of 'qi' over the paper. This flow of energy and dynamism is evident in his rendition of the SingHealth logo.
