The Dietetics and Nutrition Services Department at SGH becomes the first healthcare kitchen in the healthcare industry to achieve the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) certification.
NCCS is the first in South East Asia to introduce the use of Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) technique. IMRT is a technologically advanced method that allows high dose radiation to the tumour and lower dose to the surrounding tissues. This translates into a higher cancer control rate with lower rate of side effects.

KKH's paediatric heart doctors close a pulmonary arteriovenous fistula (a rare condition resulting in cyanosis) with an Amplatzer device, and two large patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) with Amplatzer devices.
