2006 was a busy year for Changi General Hospital (CGH) as the hospital celebrated its 10th Anniversary. As part of its Anniversary celebrations, CGH’s Dietetic and Catering Department, together with Makansutra, have produced a cookbook with a personal touch.
"Sensational Confessions" features a collection of 18 stories told by friends and staff of the hospital about a momentous or touching event in their life that they would not have shared if not for this publication. For some, the sharing of their experiences provided a release, while for others it offered an outlet for closure.
Weaved into the tales are 36 original recipes created by CGH’s Dietetic and Catering Department and 18 Makansutra eatery recommendations by makan guru, KF Seetoh. Each recipe also comes with a "Eat Smart" tip provided by Magdalin Cheong, Senior Manager of D&C department. |
"I am glad to share my story through this channel, which also helped me to find closure." - Jessie Choo, CGH senior nurse manager whose story is featured in "Cooking for Life, Love and a Final Journey" |
"I was particularly touched by the story about the late patient Linda Bee (story by Jessie Choo), who endured a life-threatening illness for two decades and who simply asked for a meal of her favourite nasi lemak on the day she died." - KF Seetoh |
