Expectant mothers at KK Hospital no longer have to wait in the queue to pay their bills and book their next appointment.

Since February, a one-time deposit of $488 at the hospital at the start of their antenatal consultations allows patients to skip the queue and head straight home after their consultation and treatment. The bill and their next scheduled appointment are then mailed to them within seven working days.

Termed the Antenatal FAST Scheme, the service is available for all private obstetric patients at the hospital’s Specialist Outpatient Clinics. It covers consultation, as well as laboratory and treatment charges. The pilot scheme aims to help patients save time, while also relieving the workload of the counter staff at the clinics.

If the deposit of $488 is depleted, patients will be billed through pre-authorised GIRO or credit card. The scheme is automatically terminated upon delivery of the child, and any unutilised amount will be refunded.To encourage patients to sign up, a $100 shopping voucher, to be used at the hospital’s pharmacy, will be given to all who register for the scheme.
