SingHealth-Lee Foundation Excellence in Nursing Awards 2005
Singapore, 1 August 2005 - The SingHealth-Lee Foundation Excellence in Nursing Awards was initiated in 2004 and was made possible by the generous donation from the Lee Foundation. A cluster-wide Award, it was initiated to recognise nurses for the excellence in work performance and commitment.
The Award is eligible to any nurse within SingHealth who has had at least three years of nursing experience. Nurses are nominated by their immediate supervisors or their nursing directors. Nominated nurses are expected to have good work performance, significant contributions to the organization and active participation in community services. Having gone the extra mile in their work will give them the edge over the others.
There are three categories for the Award, namely:
- Nursing Leaders Category – 1 Recipient
- Enrolled Nurses Category – 3 Recipients
- Registered Nurses Category – 6 Recipients
A total of 72 nominations were received this year. Following three rounds of selection and interviews, the 10 nurses below will be receiving the SingHealth-Lee Foundation Excellence in Nursing Awards 2005:

Senior Enrolled Nurse Anita Bte Rahmat – KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital
Registered Nurses Category
Senior Staff Nurse Sivagame d/o Maniva – Singapore General Hospital
Senior Staff Nurse Chua Foong Sin, Alice – National Cancer Centre
Senior Staff Nurse Goh Choon Tee – Changi General Hospital
Staff Nurse Hidayatul’Alia Bte Ahmad – National Heart Centre
Senior Staff Nurse Lim Soo Ting, Joyce – KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital
Senior Staff Nurse Beh Gaik Ping – Changi General Hospital
Recipients of the Award will be given a trophy, a specially designed collar pin and S$2,000 cash.
