I was recently sponsored by Singhealth to present my project on the CT Features of Primary Epiploic Appendagitis at the UK Radiological Congress (UKRC) 2005, held at the G-Mex Centre and Manchester International Convention Centre in Manchester, United Kingdom from 6th to 8th of June 2005.

The UKRC is a three day multidisciplinary Congress covering all aspects of of diagnostic imaging and oncology, as well as radiology informatics and service delivery.  The event attracted 4000 attendees to both the Conference and Exhibition and incorporates a technical exhibit of 6000m2.  The Congress is the main radiological meeting in the UK, and is one of the premier European events in this field.

I had the opportunity to present my work to international delegates as well as to interact with some of the world renowned radiologists from the United Kingdom.  I also had the opportunity to view some the state-of-the-art information throughout the entire field of radiology.  During the Congress, there were also numerous subject updates, keynote lectures, mini-symposia, interactive sessions as well as workshops across the full range of subjects by experts in their respective fields.  I particularly enjoyed and learnt a great deal from the interdisciplinary teaching sessions, which were chaired and attended by many radiologists and clinicians, discussing a wide range of conditions that are very practical in our daily clinical practice.  There was also time to visit the "Theatre of Dreams" or Old Trafford, Home of Manchester United Football Club.

I thoroughly enjoyed and benefited much from conference and encourage all diagnostic radiology trainees to attend the conference if they had an opportunity.
