Medical Training in SingHealth  

REGISTRARS

Specialist Accreditation Board has mandated attendance at the AST course on Medical Ethics, Professionalism and Health Law as a requirement for exit certifications from specialist training with effect from 2006. It is compulsory for all AST exiting after April 2006 to attend the course. Please refer to Medical Manpower Intranet for official letter from JCST and contact Singapore Medical Association (Professional Development Services) for course details.

Upon completion of Basic Specialist Training, you can apply to Joint Committee for Specialist Training (JCST) to undergo advanced specialist training or AST.

The Advanced Specialist Training Handbook will explain the following procedures of AST:

  • Admissions into Advanced Specialist Training
  • Application for advanced training post
  • Registration for AST

As a new trainee joining the AST program from May 2002 onwards, you may choose to undergo a 5-year Dual Accreditation Program. You can obtain more information on AST from Division of Graduate Medical Studies.
