JUNIOR DOCTOR MEDICAL TRAINING

SingHealth is committed to your training. Being the largest medical
healthcare organization in Singapore, it is firmly committed to medical
excellence and genuine care to meet our nation's healthcare needs

As a SingHealth junior doctor, you will find that SingHealth's broad emphasis on general medicine
and surgical practices will allow you to gain a broad but firm foundation in basic medical, surgical
knowledge. Our subspecialty teaching will provide those of you who are advanced trainees to
acquire the depth of knowledge required to excel in sub-specialty areas of medicine and
surgery.

The Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI), the first postgraduate medical institute to be
established in a hospital was officially opened on 28 April 1995. As part of SingHealth's effort to
continue to strengthen and streamline medical training, PGMI has been tasked to coordinate
post-graduate medical training in SingHealth.

A summary of SingHealth's training resources can be found in the SingHealth Training Directory,
a comprehensive collection of information on all core structured training programs within the cluster.
You can also view a list of our clinical specialties and read more about them to help you
decide which area of further training to pursue.

The SingHealth Medical Education Series offers a collection of e-Learning tutorials & lectures for
your self-learning at your own time and convenience. Please login to Intranet to find more information
about SingHealth's Virtual Classroom.

All doctors are strongly encouraged to
attend departmental teachings and hospital
CME programs. In SingHealth, you can
participate in the training programs of any
department in the cluster. To do this, you can
search the SingHealth CME Calendar.
Alternatively you can visit the
Singapore Medical Council (SMC) to
locate related CMEs organized by various
organizations in Singapore. Information on
CME credit requirements for medical registration
renewals can also be located at the SMC web site.
