A HMDP Update specially for Health Science Professionals was organized on 26 October 2005.    The Update was well attended by colleagues in the cluster and in other healthcare institutions such as Ang Mo Kio Community Hospital, Mount Alvernia Hosptial and Nanyang Polytechnic. 

Three of our awardees who have returned from their fellowships presented with passion what they have observed and learnt during their training. 

Ms Tan Ming Fong is a physiotherapist with National Heart Centre.  She was attached to Cleveland Clinic Foundation (CCF) and Beaumont Health Centre in USA from 29th March to 14th May 2004 and from 17 May to 25 June 2004 respectively.  She shared about the various inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programme with emphasis on the HF ACTION Trial that she has understudied.

Ms Yu Po Yee is a dietician with Singapore General Hospital.  She completed her fellowship in Wellbound Division, Satellite Healthcare, USA from 7 November to 17 December 2004.  With a better understanding of the nutrition care plan for different dialysis modalities, Po Yee has returned to her hospital to review and update current practice guidelines for Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis.

Ms Ng Hui Cheng is a pharmacist with National Cancer Centre.   She attended a 8 weeks attachment at Toronto Sunnybrook Regional Cancer Centre from 28 March to 25 May 2005.  She presented on how the fellowship has helped her to look into the delivery of pharmaceutical care to cancer patients with emphasis on ambulatory and community care setting.
