I arrived in Turin. Italy on 4th April 2006. Unfortunately, it was not the Winter Olympics which I was attending; rather I was at the 19th European Congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from 5th-9th April 2006.

It was well attended by OBGYN doctors from Europe with 300 oral/ posters presentations. I presented the TROMAD study (The Randomised controlled study Of Misoprostol And Dinoprostone vaginal pessary for cervical priming).

This congress was unique because it held many post-graduate workshop including laparoscopic hands-on workshop organised by European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE). I had great fun and learned a lot in the 4-hour workshop held over 2 days.

The workshop was very well organised with intensive supervision. I operated with the hungarian doctors under supervision of Prof Keckstein from Austria. We performed adhesiolysis of peri-renal fat, isolation and ligation of renal vessels, repair of vascular injuries and stenting of ureters.

The lectures were of very high quality and covers contraception, menopause, early pregnancy, urogynaecology, oncology, endoscopy and obstetrics.

I certainly would be back for 20th EBCOG in Portugal!
