Registrars appointed as advanced specialist trainees (AST) will undergo a specialist-training program prescribed by the respective Specialist Training Committees (STC). As a registrar, you will hold significant responsibilities in your clinical department. Your posting will therefore require not just STC endorsement but the support of heads of clinical departments.

While STC endorsement will ensure that your training path remains on track, the support of heads of departments will ensure that you receive sufficient opportunities and exposure to the right balance of service work, training and research in your chosen posting.
