SingHealth Australia Recruitment Trip

SingHealth recently conducted an annual recruitment trip to meet and share information with the students and doctors working in Australia. The objectives of the trips are to create awareness and promote Singapore healthcare system and share with the students the employment and training opportunities within SingHealth.  The team led by Prof Fock Kwong Ming (Chairman, Medical Board, CGH), visited Sydney and Melbourne this month.  Team members included Dr Tay Ee Guan, Director, Medical Manpower and Ms Angela Wong, Executive, Medical Manpower.

The team's first stop was Sydney where the team met up with Professor Richard Henry, Deputy Dean of Medical School, UNSW.  The discussion with Prof Henry was informative and useful as information on undergraduate training, employment & training opportunities in both Australia and Singapore was shared.

An evening presentation consisting of a corporate video and Q&A session on career and training opportunities were conducted in both Sydney and Melbourne.  The medical students enjoyed the presentations and found both to be informative and useful.  After the presentation, the students were given the opportunity to mingle with the team to gather more information and raise queries.

The team also met up with two of our Registrars who are currently doing their HMDP in Sydney.  They are Dr Janice Wong, currently doing her HMDP at Sydney Children's Hospital and Dr Chia Yin Nin from Gynaecological Cancer Centre at Royal Hospital for Women.

On behalf of the SingHealth, we would like to say a BIG thank you to all the students' representatives for the great effort and assistance in the publicity of SingHealth's presentation talk. Well Done!
