We bring more sharing from the specialities of ENT, Eye, Paediatrics and Radiation Oncology. With us,
we have A/Prof Christopher Goh, A/Prof Ong Sze Guan, Dr Chay Oh Moh and Dr Chua Eu Tiong.
All our speakers are filled with passion for what they are doing. It was an evening of sharing where
they talked about what it takes to do well in their respective specialities, the opportunities and
challenges ahead for junior doctors in the next few years and the developments of these specialities in
the future.
Dr Chua Eu Tiong gave an overview of radiation treatment to allow junior doctors to appreciate what
happens to patients who go the the basement for treatment. A/Prof Christopher Goh highlighted why ENT
is unique. It is a specialization which encompasses both medicine and surgery. A/Prof Ong Sze Guan
explained in depth the entries and examinations for BST and AST. Dr Chay Oh Moh shared a brief
history of how Paediatrics as a speciality came about in the restructured hospitals. The role of
paediatricians has changed and evolved over the years. The need for sub-specializations have
emerged to meet the special needs of children.
