Faculty Development Seminar
Professor Louis N. Pangaro will share with us the "RIME" Method of Resident and Student Evaluation.
The RIME progression provides a brief, cogent taxonomy of goals that is easily grasped and used by
teachers at all levels, from interns supervising students to faculty describing the progress of residents
and even fellows.
At the end of the sessions, the learner should be able to:
- explain the basic terminology that defines the problems in evaluating clinical performance
- examine conceptual frameworks for describing educational programs
- apply the “RIME Scheme” (Reporter – Interpreter – Manager – Educator) to observing and
evaluating trainees
- advise on practical application of the RIME model in the local setting
