Training is one of the pillars of SingHealth. Talent development is essential in developing our healthcare manpower capabilities for continued clinical excellence.  Our role in Medical Manpower is to facilitate and improve the quality of knowledge and skills of our junior medical staff to meet evolving healthcare needs.

Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP)

The Ministry of Health introduced HMDP in 1980 and it was devolved to the clusters in 2001. The primary objective of HMDP continues to be able to develop Singapore's healthcare manpower capabilities and to improve the quality and range of health services to meet evolving national healthcare needs. The knowledge and skills gained from HMDP training seek to bring the standard of medical care in Singapore to greater heights.

In SingHealth, HMDP plays an important role by sending our staff to learn from the best in the world. We are committed to learn new skills, harness new technology and find new solutions for our patients from these renowned overseas training centres.

Increasing number of HMDP awards are made possible each year through funding from Ministry of Health and SingHealth Foundation.
