Employment Requirements

Before you can start work in Singapore as a medical doctor, there are a few legal requirements you must meet:

Medical Registration

Doctors wishing to work in Singapore must obtain medical registration from the Singapore Medical Council (SMC)

List of Registrable Postgraduate Medical Qualifications, which are recognised by the Medical Council currently.

Application for medical registration must be submitted to SMC together with required supporting documents through your prospective employer.

Employment Pass

Foreigners seeking employment in Singapore will require an employment pass from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). Permanent residents of Singapore do not require an employment pass.

Application for an employment pass must be submitted to MOM through your prospective employer. Your application form must be accompanied by the required supporting documents as stated in the Ministry of Manpower website.
