Dr Stanley Chia is a Consultant with the Department of Cardiology, National Heart Centre Singapore.

He undertook his medical studies at the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom and graduated with honours in 1997, obtaining the degrees of Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery. He has been a Member of the Royal College of Physicians, United Kingdom since 2000, and a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore since 2006. He was also conferred the degree of Doctor of Medicine by the University of Edinburgh in 2006.

Accredited as a specialist in cardiology in Singapore since 2006, Dr Chia did his clinical fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, United States, with sub-specialty experience in percutaneous coronary and cardiac interventions.

Dr Chia has extensive experience in clinical research. He was awarded the British Heart Foundation Junior Research Fellowship in 2001 and the National Medical Research Council Medical Research Fellowship in 2007. He has previously undertaken clinical research work at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, United Kingdom and at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, United States of America. He has published numerous scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals and has presented his work at many international meetings.

Dr Chia’s sub-specialty interest is Interventional Cardiology. His research interests include coronary inflammation, vascular imaging and management of coronary artery disease.
