1

Château Lafite Rothschild

The quality of Château Lafite Rothschild needs no introduction.

As early as 1815, Abraham Lawton had already designated it as leader: “I ranked it as being the most elegant and delicate, with the finest body of the three (leading wines)” he qualified in 1855.

The 1982’s deep ruby color, revealing only a touch of lightening at the edge, the wine offers up an extraordinary nose of caramelized herbs, smoke, cedar, pen ink, black currants, and earth.

The gorgeous aromatics are followed by a full-bodied, plump, rich, fleshy wine with low acidity.

It needs another 5 to 8 years to reach full maturity and will is capable of lasting 50 to 60 years.

It possesses that extraordinary Lafite fragrance of minerals, lead pencil, cedar, and spice.

It is velvety-textured, wonderfully round, and sweet, but so well-delineated and balanced. Anticipated maturity:  2010-2040.

Retail Price: $9,200

Lee Kuan Yew:
Hard Truths to Keep Singapore Going

From the Straits Times Press, Hard Truths to Keep Singapore Going is a conversation with Singapore's most influential son.

Based on 32 hours of interviews at the Istana, this book full flow, often combative, but this 458-page, 11-chapter tome is a comprehensive examination of Mr Lee's  thoughts and beliefs.

It covers weighty topics such as Singapore's political system, climate change and international relations, but also lighter ones, like his views on tattoos, fengshui and movies.

This exclusive edition will be specially autographed by Mr Lee Kuan Yew, for the successful bidder.

Minimum Bid $4,888

3

1992 Petrus

The 1992 Petrus is clearly one of the two candidates for the "wine of the vintage."

The normal production of 4,500 cases was severely reduced to only 2,600 cases, resulting in an atypically concentrated, powerful, rich wine with a dark, saturated ruby/purple color, a tight but promising nose of sweet black-cherry fruit, vanillin, caramel, and herb-tinged mocha notes.

Concentrated and powerful, with superb density of fruit and richness, as well as wonderful sweetness to its tannin, this is a brilliant effort for the vintage.

The wine requires 3 to 5 years of cellaring and should keep for 15 to 20 or more years.

Retail Price: $2,325

Minimum Bid $1,188
