Family Comes First at this Charity Movie Treat
SingHealth's charity movie is set to bring the whole family together in more ways than one. It is part of SingHealth's outreach campaign themed "We Are One Family" in aid of the President's Challenge this year. The audience comprises some 800 SingHealth staff and their families as well as 105 children and youths from the Jamiyah Children's Home and Gracehaven. The event kicks off a series of outreach efforts by SingHealth's family of nine healthcare institutions and the SingHealth Corporate Office.
Dr Adrian Ee, Chairperson, SingHealth PC2010 Organising Committee cum Director, Clinical & Corporate Services, SingHealth Polyclinics said, "Our group of institutions meet families every day. When one member of the family is ill, it affects the rest. We work in partnership with families from treatment and restoring health to preventing diseases. But we want to go beyond medical treatment. An event like this is a chance for family bonding among SingHealth staff and their loved ones, and at the same time, bringing a smile to the children and youths.”
Professor Tan Ser Kiat, Group Chief Executive Officer, SingHealth said, “"This year, we at SingHealth celebrate our 10th anniversary and we want to uphold the tradition of rebuilding the lives of the underprivileged in society. The various activities rally our staff to volunteer their talent, time and energy for a meaningful endeavour. We look forward to building upon the $1.6 million that the SingHealth family has raised for President's Challenge beneficiaries over the years."
SingHealth has been supporting the President's Challenge since 2004. Each year, the campaign of fundraising and community outreach activities is led by one SingHealth institution and involves all staff of the healthcare group.
This year, SingHealth Polyclinics is taking the lead to organise this annual fundraising event that includes staff pledge card donation drive in July/August as well as a string of community outreach events undertaken by the nine SingHealth institutions and SingHealth Corporate Office over the next few months.
Singapore National Eye Centre, Singapore General Hospital, SingHealth Corporate Office and SingHealth Polyclinics sponsored the “Prince of Persia – The Sands of Time” movie tickets for the beneficiaries at VivoCity, Golden Village.
